Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • The Eucharist is the center and heart of Catholic Christian life. Make a loaf of bread for the evening meal. Light a candle and say a blessing for the family. Have each member pull off a piece of the loaf as a reminder that we are one in unity with each other.
  • Get out the pictures of your First Eucharist as well as photos from the First Eucharist of all the members of your family. Recall stories about that day and what various family members remember most.
  • Involve family members in preparing a meal for guests. Prepare special signs of hospitality and care. Talk about ways the family can show hospitality in the way you greet guests and care for their needs.
  • Make a meal together as a family and bring it to a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. Share Jesus’ love and care by serving the meal.
