Lifelong Catechesis
Forming Catholic identity across generationsDuring the Christmas season from December 24th until the Sunday after Epiphany, we reflect upon the mystery of love that is made visible in the birth and early childhood of Christ.
Marguerite Bourgeoys, Religious
Marguerite was born in France in a very big family. She wanted to be a sister and enter religious life but was prevented from doing so until later in her life. From a small school in a Montreal, Marguerite convinced several young sisters to join her and they founded the Congregation of Notre Dame. Even though troubled times followed, she persisted and in the end, this Congregation has served many thousands of students.
Even though she felt God’s call when she was young, this call did not mature until she was older. How can you know what God wants from you? Only through faithfulness and prayer, like Marguerite. Pray for God’s guidance in your life.
