Lifelong Catechesis

Forming Catholic identity across generations
June 16, 2024

The sound of Alleluias fills the 50 days of Easter Sunday to Pentecost as we give thanks for the gift of our salvation. The Easter Triduum recalls the passion and resurrection of Christ in the sacred journey from Holy Thursday to Easter Vigil. "Dying he destroyed our death. Rising he restored our life."

Activity of the Week

Easter Sunday

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • Jesus rose from the dead to a new and more glorious life. Discuss ways that your family can celebrate the new life of Easter this week.
  • Make a large cross on poster paper. Have each member of the family decorate it with his or her favorite Easter symbols. Talk about how the Resurrection of Jesus impacts the way you view the world.
  • Color Easter eggs together as a family. Share the good news about Jesus.
  • Make an Easter card to send to those who were baptized at the Easter Vigil or to those baptized Christians who became full members of the Catholic Church.
