Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • Today’s Gospel invites us to live in hope and to share what God has given us as we await Jesus’ return. What can your family do to live in joyful hope for Jesus’ return?
  • Remind the family that your faithfulness and love is a reflection of God’s love for the world. Make a poster with a large circle in the center representing a mirror. Within the mirror, draw pictures or make a list of ways that your family can reflect God’s love within and beyond the household.
  • Is there someone you know who is having trouble right now? What can you do to help that person persevere in faith?
  • Go around the table and ask each family member what they would want to be doing if Jesus returned today. Would you live your life differently if you knew exactly when Jesus was coming? If so, how would your life change?
