Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • God’s laws, including the Ten Commandments, were given so that we can live in love and peace with God, with one another, and with all of creation. As a family, choose a commandment as your special focus for action this week. Near the end of the week, share with other family members what choices you made and the consequences of your actions.
  • As a family, choose a way to put faith into action this week.  Ask each family member to offer suggestions. Each member chooses one action for this week.
  • Post a list of family rules. Have each member select a rule he or she has difficulty following. Discuss as a family how each member understands the rules.
  • Read stories from the lives of the saints. Talk about how their faith in Jesus showed through their words and actions.
