Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • Create a worry box from a shoebox or similar box in size. Have each family member write on a small piece of paper one worry that won’t go away. As a family, pick out one worry at a time and discuss how in relation to life and necessities it is unimportant. Their needs will be provided by God. God is in charge.
  • Discuss how it is impossible to serve two masters. Divide the family into two camps of workers. Have one person be part of both camps then give instructions: hop only on left foot for camp 1, and hop only on right foot for camp 2. The person that claims membership in both camps cannot do both tasks. We cannot serve two masters. Eventually the conflict will require serving only one. God is our only master.
