Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • As a family, read the Beatitudes together. Have each family member reflect on one of the Beatitudes that he or she finds most meaningful. Invite each person to share his or her Beatitude out loud. After one of the Beatitudes is shared, everyone prays, “Blessed are you!”
  • Discuss the Beatitudes with your child. Help your child find magazine pictures of things that bring happiness to him or her or to the family. Have your child cut out a picture that represents his or her favorite Beatitude.
  • Read the Beatitudes and discuss what they mean with your family. Print a different Beatitude each day on a sheet of paper. Each evening discuss how your family can carry out this Beatitude.
  • Brainstorm as a family: Happiness is... Talk about ways that your family is happy or blessed. Create a happy corner on your refrigerator. Get out pictures of your good times as a family and post them on the refrigerator door.
