Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • Today’s gospel stresses that we should be resourceful stewards while doing God’s work. Our land is a land of plenty. Our responsibility is to take care of the world given to us, not to waste, not to be greedy, and to share our wealth. Have your family do a project this week to help clean up a park, highway, beach, or neighborhood. In addition, if your community has a recycling program, encourage all your family members to participate.
  • For the evening prayer this week, remember to pray for government leaders. Remind your family of the responsibility we all have to pray for those who are in charge of our civic well-being.
  • Make a list of situations in your community that seem to be exploiting others.. Write your senators and congressional representatives and ask them to work to change these situations.
  • Discuss a local charity that your family will commit to help throughout the rest of the year.
