Ordinary Time

For a large part of the liturgical year, we devote ourselves to listening to the mystery of Christ in all its aspects unfolded as we seek God's truth and understanding.

Activity of the Week

Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:

  • Plan a family picnic or other outing to celebrate Trinity Sunday. The time together should help the family develop a feeling of love and security within your family. Such a time enables children to experience a glimpse of the love relationship as expressed in the Trinity.
  • As a family, take time to play a game that all enjoy. Talk about what you like about playing together. How does playing together help to bring the family closer?
  • Gather together as a family and have each person tell one thing that they love most about the family. Provide each family member with a sheet of paper and pencil. Give the following instructions: Write down one thing you can do this week to show your family that you love them as God loves them.
  • Teach the youngest members of the family to make the Sign of the Cross with the name of the Trinity. Before the evening meal, as a family pray a prayer in honor of the Trinity, such as: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
